About This Major

The Support Teacher Program prepares graduates specializing in support education to efficiently and effectively meet community needs and address the global challenges and changes affecting the education and care of students with disabilities across Jordanian and Arab societies. It equips them to utilize their capabilities and expertise in working with these student populations—as well as in official institutions and relevant associations—in accordance with the requirements and specifications of Level 6 of the Jordanian National Qualifications Framework.

Training support teachers with high-quality scientific and practical skills, enabling them to provide academic, psychological, and social support to students with special needs within the classroom, in cooperation with the lead teacher and the school community.

About the Department

The Supporting Teacher Department is a unique and pioneering department that Princess Tharwat College was the first to establish in order to meet a pressing need in the modern educational system. It represents the bridge between general education and special education. The establishment of this department came in response to global and local shifts towards "inclusive education," which stipulates the right of every student, regardless of their physical, mental, or academic abilities, to learn within a natural and stimulating school environment.
